Why this isn't just a checkbox
Cross-contamination in a dental setting is entirely preventable โ but only if sterilisation is treated as a strict, non-negotiable protocol rather than a formality. At Dr. Gupta's Dental Clinic, every single instrument that touches a patient is sterilised before that visit, with no exceptions made for time pressure or a busy day.

Sealed Single-Use Pouches
The protocol, step by step
-
1. Pre-cleaning
Instruments are rinsed and scrubbed immediately after use to remove any organic debris before sterilisation.
-
2. Ultrasonic cleaning
An ultrasonic bath removes residue from hard-to-reach areas that manual cleaning alone can miss.
-
3. Sealed pouching
Each instrument is individually sealed in a sterilisation pouch, keeping it protected until the moment it's opened for your treatment.
-
4. Autoclave sterilisation
Pouches go through a high-pressure steam autoclave cycle โ the same standard used in hospital operating rooms.
-
5. Cycle verification
Every autoclave cycle is checked and logged, so nothing reaches a patient without a confirmed complete cycle.
-
6. Opened chairside, in front of you
Your sealed instrument pouch is opened in the treatment room, at the start of your visit โ not before.

What you can ask, any time
You're always welcome to ask whether your instruments were sterilised for your visit specifically. It's a fair question, and at this clinic it always has the same honest answer: yes, every time, without exception.
